I read the recent city audit that looked at the city’s finances compared Lawrence to some other similar cities. What cities were chosen?
The city auditor chose 15 cities based on population, portion of residents under the age of 18, per capita income, and the median age of housing. The cities chosen were: Norman, Okla.; Missoula, Mont.; Bellingham, Wash.; Athens, Ga.; St. Cloud, Minn.; Champaign, Ill.; Johnson City, Tenn.; Chico, Calif.; Grand Junction, Colo.; Charlottesville, Va.; Gainesville, Fla.; Iowa City; Bloomington, Ind.; Davis, Calif.; and Columbia, Mo.
