Can you tell me how much money the city has received as part of the federal stimulus program?
Yes. According to a list that is part of City Manager David Corliss’ recommended budget for 2010, the city has received $8,032,145 in money from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The city has received or will receive money for these purposes: $2 million for reconstruction of North Second and Locust streets; $946,828 for reconstruction of portions of New York Street; $800,750 for reconstruction of portions of the Clinton Parkway bike trail; $2,930,929 for replacement of transit buses; $216,798 in additional Community Development Block Grant funding; $278,240 for radio replacements in the police department; and $858,600 in energy efficiency grants.
