Where might I recycle an old TV, tires and a mattress?

According to Kathy Richardson, waste reduction and recycling operations supervisor for the city, old TVs may be recycled at these local stores: Best Buy, Office Depot and UNI Computers. TV size limits and recycling fees vary per store. Call the store for information. The city’s Solid Waste Division picks up to five tires per household each year. Call 832-3022 to schedule a pickup. In addition, many tire retailers in Lawrence will accept tires for a small fee. Currently there are no outlets for recycling mattresses in our area. A mattress may be disposed of by placing it at the curb on your assigned trash day.
