I would like to know how the trial bus system from KU to KUMC campuses went. Are there any plans to implement a bus system between the two campuses in the future?
Ron Dougherty, chairman and professor of mechanical engineering, helped to facilitate the trial program in September. He reported that trials went well, with 50 to 60 unique riders during a period of about 20 days. The next step for the program will be to solicit bids for a longer-term trial to see whether the potential program is cost-effective. “In this budget climate, it has to pay for itself,” Dougherty said.
