Is there any place in the region to go ice skating?
Topeka is the closest. The Kansas Expocentre, 1 Expocentre Drive, offers public skating. The next public skate is at 12:30 p.m. Friday. The next public skate after that is not until Jan. 17. Kansas City area rinks offer public skating almost daily, including the Ice Midwest Family Center, 12140 W. 135th St., Overland Park; Ice Sports, 19900 Johnson Drive, Shawnee; the Crown Center Ice Skating Terrace, 2405 Grand Blvd., Kansas City, Mo.; and the Line Creek Ice Arena, 5940 N.W. Waukomis Drive, Kansas City, Mo.
