Where can you get information on the heating and cooling degree days historical records?

Matt Elwell, 6 News meteorologist, said the National Climatic Data Center is the organization that puts out historical climate data. You can go to www.ncdc.noaa.gov to get any climate data that is available. A quick search shows that Kansas data is available for free, with data tabulated between the years of 1971-2000.
