KU is totally renovating an old stone farmhouse on Bob Billings Parkway, halfway between Iowa and Kasold. Who’s paying for it? How much is it going to cost? What will it be used for?

The KU Endowment Association owns the Chamney house and barn, 2545 W. Bob Billings Parkway. Repairs there do not constitute a total renovation, but include replacing the roof and badly deteriorated windows, said Todd Cohen, a KU spokesman. The structures have been used by KU for more than 40 years for interior design and craft studios. They currently house the Center for Design Research and a kiln used by KU’s ceramics department. To protect the buildings for continued use, KU Endowment is spending $150,000 in private funds on the repairs.
