Is there going to be a public meeting for people to voice their concerns about wanting to move the homeless shelter out on K-10?

According to Scott McCullough, the city of Lawrence’s director of planning and development services, the operation of a shelter in the former Don’s Steakhouse building on East 23rd Street would require a special-use permit. Once an application for a permit is made, it is reviewed and placed on the city’s Planning Commission agenda for a public hearing, during which the public can comment. However, McCullough said, an application for such a permit has not been made regarding the homeless shelter’s possible relocation.
