In light of the recent fatalities on the South Lawrence Trafficway, does KDOT plans to cut rumble strip grooves on the center line?

Such grooves are among several possibilities being considered by engineers at the Kansas Department of Transportation, spokeswoman Kim Qualls said. The department describes the grooves as "football-shaped indentations that are ground into the center of the road surface separating directions of traffic," to alert a driver when his or her vehicle is drifting left of the center line.
