How many trees planted by the city of Lawrence in the rights of ways or medians have died on the last two years? What is their survival rate?
Jim Beebe, city forestry supervisor, said 393 trees have been planted by city crews in medians and rights-of-way. A total of 28 trees have died, including five trees that were hit by vehicles. Overall, 93 percent of the trees have survived.
