I see the city is thinking about making rental properties 50 years or older register with the city. How will the city know how old the properties really are?

The Douglas County Appraiser's office has a year-built date for virtually every property in the city, County Appraiser Marion Johnson said. City Manager David Corliss said the city would use that data, and also would use building permit data, utility files and other public data, to determine each building's age.
