Why has Lawrence Memorial Hospital stopped the practice of playing a set of chimes over the hospital's intercom system each time a baby is born there?

Construction at the hospital and a new phone system have made the old system of playing the chimes obsolete, said Janice Early-Weas, director of community relations for LMH. But the hospital is investigating ways to make the chime system work with the new phone system, and plans to bring the practice back, Early-Weas said.
