What are the regulations in Kansas for tinted car windows?

Kansas law has several restrictions on tinted windows or sun-screening devices for vehicles registered in the state. The following restrictions can be found at the Kansas Highway Patrol's Web site, www.kansashighwaypatrol.org: ¢ Any tint that reflects light is forbidden. ¢ Tint installed on the windshield may not extend below the AS1 line marked on the windshield. The AS1 line is mandatory on all windshields because it reflects the class of safety glazing used on the windshield. ¢ The tint cannot be red or amber. ¢ Tint windows to the sides and behind the driver must allow at least 35 percent of light to pass through when used in conjunction with the manufacturer's tint and glazing materials.
