What can I do with my yard waste and tree trimmings?

Yard waste such as trees can be collected by the city on Mondays beginning at 6 a.m. All materials must either be in a can, cart or compostable bag. Materials are composted. You can take tree trimmings, limbs and branches to Wood Recovery and Composting Facility at 1420 E. 11th St. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays, beginning in mid-April. There is a $3 fee per vehicle. Call 832-7979 for details. Tree materials also can be collected at your house. Bundled materials left with your trash will be taken to the landfill, or you can leave bundles for collection on Monday. The city asks that each bundle not exceed 5 feet in length, 18 inches in diameter or 65 pounds.
