I saw Jamie Quirk coaching for the Rockies in the World Series. Did he used to play for the Royals?

Yes. Quirk, a catcher in his playing days, was a No. 1 draft pick for the Royals in 1972. According to his Rockies biography Web page, he spent three stints with the Royals, from 1975-76, 1978-82 and 1985-88. He retired from playing in 1993. Rockies manager Clinton Hurdle is also a former Royals No. 1 draft choice and played with the team for five seasons.
