Is it illegal to snag nongame fish at the Clinton Lake outlet?

Yes, it is illegal. Paddlefish can be snagged in certain areas of Kansas where it is posted during paddlefish season, which runs from March 15 to May 15, said Mark Husman, ranger at Clinton State Park. You will need a special permit, however. Non-game fish can be snagged during that same period in the same posted areas. The rules for snagging are many and some of them could change next year. If you are unsure where and when you can snag and what you can snag, the best thing to do is call the nearest Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks office.
