Kansas University is ranked fourth in the Associated Press football and men's basketball polls released this week. What was the last team to have its football and men's basketball teams ranked in the AP top 5 in the same week?
Florida and Ohio State were Nos. 1 and 2, respectively, in the final 2006 football poll, released Dec. 17. In the basketball poll released Dec. 18, Ohio State was third and Florida fifth. The Gators and Buckeyes met in the national championship games in both sports that season, and Florida won both contests. The Associated Press poll is one of several rankings of college sports teams. The Jayhawk football team is ranked No. 3 in the nation in the Bowl Championship Series standings, which determines who will play for the national title.
