Does Lawrence have a coat drive for people who cannot afford them?

Scotch Fabric Care is conducting its 21st annual Share the Warmth program, which collects coats for people who need them. Collection began Oct. 29 and runs through Nov. 24. Scotch cleans the coats and, with the help of the Salvation Army, distributes coats to the community in early December. There is a need for children's, men's and women's larger-size coats. Blankets, scarves and matched gloves also will be accepted and cleaned before distribution. There are four Scotch locations in Lawrence where items can be dropped off: 1029 N.H.; Sixth and Florida streets; 1526 W. 23rd St.; and Sixth Street and Wakarusa Drive.
