Will any students who graduated from Lawrence high schools be carrying banners for schools during Kansas University's commencement on May 20?
Yes, Lester Lee Big Goose Jr., a Lawrence High School graduate and KU bachelor's degree candidate in social work, will carry the banner for the School of Social Welfare. Anne Isabel McEnroe, a Free State High School graduate and bachelor's degree candidate in classical languages and English, will carry a banner for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Eleven other KU students will carry banners. The university selects students who have excelled academically throughout their careers to lead their fellow graduates down Mount Oread.
