How did the city decide which downtown businesses to give grant money to install sprinkler systems?
The city gave points to each property that applied for the fire sprinkler incentive program based on a ranking system.
The system ranked a business based on whether it has a basement, whether it has apartments on upper floors, whether the building is a public assembly space, whether it is on Massachusetts Street, and the building's historic and architectural significance.
