How long has the present city manager been with the city as an employee and what were his previous duties and responsibilities?

Dave Corliss started working for Lawrence in 1990 as a management analyst. In 1996, he was promoted to the director of legal services, and promoted again in 2000 to assistant city manager. Corliss was the interim city manager starting in March 2006 when former city manager Mike Wildgen was asked to step down. In September 2006, city commissioners named Corliss the sixth city manager in Lawrence, a position he continues to hold today.
