I saw your story on goats; it said they are not allowed to be kept in the city limits of Lawrence. Can you tell me what animals are allowed in the city limits of Lawrence and which ones are not?

With a few exceptions, city code allows for the ownership of the following animals: domestic dogs and cats; domesticated rodents and European ferrets; rabbits; birds; nonvenomous snakes less than 8 feet long; nonvenomous lizards; turtles, amphibians, fish and invertebrates. Ownership of all other animals within the city limits is prohibited, except in a few cases, such as temporary transport through the city, ownership by a medical or educational institution, or animals for sale or show at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds.
