What is the criteria needed to have your jersey retired and hung at Allen Fieldhouse? I am asking specifically in regard to Kirk Hinrich, who I happen to think is a terrific player, both as a college athlete and a NBA player. I just wondered why his jersey has not been retired and hung in Allen Fieldhouse.

To have a jersey retired a player must, generally, be admitted to the Kansas Athletics Hall of Fame. In order to be admitted to the Hall of Fame, an individual must be one of the following: an Olympic medalist, U.S. Olympic team member, world or American record holder, NCAA individual champion or consensus first team All-American. While Nick Collison was a first team All-American, Hinrich was on the third team his final season and therefore is not eligible to have his jersey retired.
