Why aren't there any pavement markings on the road south of 31st and Louisiana streets? It's very difficult at night to see the edge of the road and gauge the center line.
The street becomes East 1400 Road south of 31st Street, and it is maintained by Wakarusa Township. There is a minimum traffic level of 6,000 vehicles per day before the state requires that a road have markings, said Keith Browning, Douglas County Public Works director. Browning said traffic counts haven't been taken on that road recently. But he said the road carries enough traffic that the county might want to discuss applying markings with the township.
