When will they start tearing down the old South Junior High?

Tom Bracciano, division director of operations and facility planning for Lawrence public schools, said demolition is now tentatively scheduled for Aug. 13, which was changed from Monday. A construction fence will separate the new school and Broken Arrow School from construction workers demolishing the old school. Bracciano said the new junior high building is on schedule to be ready for teachers to prepare for the first day of school. South seventh-graders will participate in orientation on Aug. 15. Eighth- and ninth-graders will join them in class the following day.
