Sound Off

Since Memorial Day is coming up, I was wondering how many Kansans have been killed in the war in Iraq?

Gov. Kathleen Sebelius' office announced Tuesday that 27 Kansas soldiers and 65 soldiers from Fort Riley have been killed during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Family members have been invited to the Governor's Annual Memorial Day Ceremony at 9 p.m. Monday on the South Lawn of the Statehouse in Topeka. The ceremony is open to the public.

The governor also ordered flags to be flown at half-staff until noon Monday.
