Can you tell me how many abortions were performed in Kansas last year, and whether the number was more or less than the year before?
According to Kansas Department of Health and Environment records, 10,542 abortions were performed in Kansas in 2005; 11,446 in 2004.
Both years, Kansas residents accounted for slightly more than half - between 52 percent and 53 percent - of the state's abortion numbers. The remainder were from out of state.
Last year, 339 abortions were performed on Douglas County residents; 54 fewer than in 2004.
