I would like to know how the bioscience board was formed.

The Kansas Bioscience Authority was established after the Legislature approved in 2004 the Kansas Economic Growth Act. The legislation uses tax growth in the life science industry to fund additional academic and economic development improvements in the field. The Bioscience Authority determines how the tax funds are spent. The nine voting members of the authority were appointed by Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, legislative leaders and the Kansas Technology Enterprise Corp. Two nonvoting members were appointed by the Kansas Board of Regents.
