With Kansas State now after big-time basketball players under coach Bob Huggins ... I was wondering how the Wildcats transport these prospects to Manhattan on official recruiting trips? Are the prospects allowed to fly university jets right to campus? For that matter, how does KU bring in their prospects on basketball recruiting trips?
The NCAA passed a rule a couple seasons ago prohibiting the use of private jets in recruiting. As a result, an out-of-state prospect visiting Kansas State would not be able to fly directly to Manhattan.
The prospect would need to fly commercially to Kansas City International, then be picked up at the airport by K-State coaches and driven to Manhattan.
That's also the way out-of-state prospects arrive for their visits to Mount Oread. They fly to KCI, are picked up at the airport by coaches and driven to Lawrence.
