Between Bob Billings Parkway and Inverness on Wakarusa on the east side, there are two signs warning drivers that a stop sign is coming up on Inverness. Since they have been there for about a year, wouldn't it be time to take those warning signs down? They really are visually offensive. I'm sure everyone who travels that street has seen them so many times they are oblivious to them, and we could make what is a pretty street even prettier if those signs came down. Can that happen?
David Woosley, the city's traffic engineer, said there continues to be several crashes at the intersection due to driver inattention. He said removing the signs might increase the number of crashes. He said not all motorists traveling on Wakarusa Drive are familiar with the area, and all-way stops on arterial streets are not something the average driver expects to encounter.
