I was wondering if it was energy efficient to shut off vents in rooms that are not being used in winter and is it better to leave the doors open in all the rooms or shut the different rooms around the house to preserve the heat within the rooms?
According to the U.S. Department of Energy, shutting off vents and doors to unused rooms is indeed a good way to save money on your heating bill.
