Can you tell me is there any place in Lawrence where one can take used school supplies that are still in good condition like crayons that still have some shelf life, glue, and paper and so forth? Is there somewhere in town to take used school supplies where someone can make use of them?
There is at least one place. The local Veterans of Foreign Wars Post is collecting new and used school supplies for Iraqi children, said Judy Gragg, president of the VFW Post Auxiliary. Supplies can be dropped off at the Post, 138 Ala., from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., Monday through Friday; from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and and from noon to 7 p.m. Sunday.
