How many of the USD 497 teachers who are taking early retirement are going to be rehired by the district into another position?
None of the USD 497 teachers taking early retirement are being rehired by the district.
"That would eliminate their eligibility for early-retirement benefits," said Mary Rodriguez, the district's executive director of human resources.
Generally, the retiring teachers have been with the district at least 20 years, have at least a master's degree and, in accordance with the district's salary grid, earn between $40,700 and $50,887 annually.
