I was reading about the virtual school. I have been curious as to how these students are tested for progress and advancement. Could you please explain that? I'm concerned about cheating. Couldn't anybody sit down at the computer and take the test for them?

Students are monitored continuously, said Gary Lewis, principal of Lawrence Virtual School, 2145 La. Students take a test at the start and at the end of the course. Students must take those tests in-person with a proctor present. Semester exams and final exams also are proctored. Lewis said teachers likely won't give much weight to tests that aren't proctored. For regular assignments, the school will function much like a regular high school, trusting that students will do the work on their own, he said.
