I was reading an article about youth baseball and noticed a reference to the Houk League. Who is it named after, and why?

The Houk League is named after Ralph Houk, a Lawrence native who was a major league catcher for the New York Yankees (1947-54). Houk also managed the Yankees for 11 years, the Detroit Tigers for five years and the Boston Red Sox for five years. Houk, who lives in Winter Haven, Fla., will turn 86 early next month.
