What is the correct spelling for the Quran? The Journal-World spells it Quran, and on PBS television and CNN they are spelling it Koran. I'd like to know why J-W is using Quran.

Both spellings can be used. The Lawrence Journal-World uses the spelling "Quran" rather than "Koran" because it is the preferred spelling, according to The Associated Press Stylebook. Most newspapers and newsmagazines in the United States use the AP Stylebook as a guide of usage.
