I was wondering what was going on with this over-taxation of cars? Was the state supposed to repeal that law in January?

The House and Senate have each passed versions of a bill that would repeal the law that resulted in many people paying sales taxes on used cars based on the higher "blue book" value rather than what the car was actually worth.

The bill is now in a House-Senate conference committee, which will start meeting Monday. Committee members said they hoped to finish work on the bill soon and get it to Gov. Kathleen Sebelius. She has said she would sign the bill to repeal the law.
