Sound Off

I listen to the Kansas University men's basketball games on KLZR, 105.9 FM. I've noticed that once or twice a game there's a loud squelching noise that lasts one or two seconds. What causes that?

"I asked the engineer with our satellite uplink to check on this," said Bob Newton, producer/engineer with Jayhawk Radio Network. "He thinks he's found the piece of equipment that's generating the noise bursts. He has some ideas on how to eliminate the problem. We're hoping to get it taken care of."
