When was the last time Lawrence had a white Christmas?

It was only five years ago, on Dec. 25, 2000, when 2 inches of snow fell, according to Bryce Kintigh, assistant to Kansas Climatologist Mary Knapp.

The past few years have been clear on and around Christmas in Lawrence.

The definition of a white Christmas is snowfall before Dec. 25, if it is still on the ground, or if snow fell on Dec. 24 but was reported on Dec. 25.
