Could you find out for us if the new light at Seventh and Kentucky streets is timed the way it is finally going to be? If it is, that's horrible. The way it is now, it is going to really bottle up traffic and encourage people to race to get a green light. It is not in time with the rest of that street a bit.
City Manager Mike Wildgen said that when the contractor activated the new traffic signal, it was not coordinated with other signals along Kentucky Street. But as soon as it was turned over to the city, staff members implemented a computerized program coordinating it with the signals at Eighth Street and Ninth Street. Any problems experienced should be reported to the Traffic Engineering Division at 832-3034.
