Regarding the story about KU relaxing their restrictions on requiring publishing on their research, does this mean that there is going to more and more research done at public cost to benefit single corporations?

Lynn Bretz, a KU spokeswoman said: "No. KU will continue to require the right to publish the science findings of our research. The revised policy will permit delay in publication in some cases and protection of proprietary, nonscience findings in other cases. KU currently works with many private firms in research but does so on the condition that those firms fully reimburse KU for the cost of the research. Public dollars are not used to support private research."
