Is KU's budget available online? And if not, why not?
"The operating budget for the KU Lawrence campus alone is more than 600 pages," said Lynn Bretz, a KU spokeswoman. "It is available in printed form at the Spencer Research Library reading room for anyone who wants to read it. Given the limited demand, size and complexity of the document, and the time and expense required to create and maintain it online, KU has not posted it on the Web. However, the university's Annual Financial Report, a shorter document, is available online at www.comptroller.ku.edu. You'll find several years' worth of reports under Financial Management Services on the left navigation bar."
