Why doesn't the Journal-World run the Associated Press consensus high school football rankings anymore?
The rankings were culled from the Wichita Eagle, the Topeka Capital-Journal, the Salina Journal and the Hutchinson News. When the Salina and Hutchinson newspapers discontinued their state rankings, the AP bureau in Kansas City made a decision to stop compiling the rankings because, according to a bureau spokesman, it did not consider two media outlets to be a consensus.
