When are the Lawrence public school parent-teacher conferences? Why weren't they synchronized with Kansas University's fall break? The president of the school board, Leni Salkind, said that they generally tried to follow the KU schedule.
"The school district's spring break has traditionally mirrored KU's," said Sandee Crowther, co-chairwoman of the Lawrence school district's calendar committee. "Our fall recess this year is Nov. 24-26, which is aligned with KU's Thanksgiving recess. Our parent-teacher conferences, Oct. 21-22, were scheduled to provide teachers adequate time to prepare student report cards following the end of the first quarter."
KU's fall break was Thursday and Friday.
