Why are students from Schwegler School going to the after-school program at New York School instead of remaining at their own school?
An after-school program was tested last spring at Schwegler, said Janet Murphy, executive director of the Boys & Girls Club.
"It was challenging financially for the program at Schwegler, and we thought we could do a better job of mixing in students from Schwegler at the New York School," she said.
She said parents with students in Schwegler's after-school program agreed to changes for this school year, including having a before-school program at Schwegler and busing children to New York to participate in its after-school program.
