If the city's Eagle Bend Golf Course is losing so much money and so few people are using it, why don't we just cut our losses and turn it into a nature preserve?

The golf course has about 12 years of debt remaining and golf course revenues pay for that debt, so to "cut our losses" would mean the property taxpayers of the community would have to pay that debt off rather than the users of the golf course, City Manager Mike Wildgen said.
