Do the same laws that apply to searching a car during a traffic stop apply to a motorcycle?

Sgt. Dan Ward, Lawrence Police spokesman, said, "The Fourth Amendment applies equally to all forms of motor vehicles including motorcycles."

But he said that because fewer parts of a motorcycle are enclosed, officers might be able to see more items in plain view, and those are not covered by the Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which protects against unreasonable searches and seizures.
