I wonder why "Doonesbury" was not in the Sunday paper. Can you tell me?

The strip, which included a panel showing a severed head, was pulled by Journal-World managers who determined it was insensitive given the recent beheading of an American civilian contractor in Iraq.

The comic was drawn before that incident, and was unrelated to war. Still, many newspapers either pulled it from the Sunday comics or ran editor's notes cautioning readers about it. Cartoonist Garry Trudeau apologized for the unfortunate timing of the strip, which he said included an image "that is now clearly inappropriate."
