I'm appalled at the muck and sand and salt in the streets and I was wondering -- it seemed to me there was an ordinance or requirement that the city and the university clean the sand and grit off the streets in a reasonable amount of time. I was wondering if that's the case.
City Manager Mike Wildgen said: "The city cleans and repairs the streets after each winter season. During the transition from cold, wet weather to the warmer seasons, there is a period of time when dirt and sand remain in the roadways. Crews are working overtime and weekends to repair the potholes. Street sweepers have been out working when conditions permit and pothole repairs are completed."
