Sound Off

We'd been gone for a couple weeks and I'm trying to catch up on all your news. Under "Friends and Neighbors" there was a picture of President and Mrs. Bush with Kansas' 2004 teacher of the year. I was wondering which county he came from and what school and what he taught. I have missed out on that.

Keil Hileman, who teaches social studies at Monticello Trails Middle School in Shawnee, which is in Johnson County, was one of four finalists for national teacher of the year honored in April at the White House. Hileman graduated with a bachelor's degree from Kansas University in 1993 and with a master's degree in 1996.
